When you walk through the produce section of your local grocery store, you’ll see many fruits and vegetables which we know well.
However, there are many unusual varieties which never make it to the market. Then there are the new odd hybrids.
Take for example the “Pluot.” They say it was created by a geneticist in Nebraska who crossed plums and apricots. It was once featured on a “60 Minutes” segment.
Or the Ugli Fruit
Maybe these fruits and veggies will find their way to the produce section in the future. I’m not sure of the taste, but that is part of what hybridizers look for among other things. Details at:
